Newmar Canyon Star

Looking at moving from the fiver to a 2015 Newmar Canyon Star 3953.
Any opinion or advise will be appreciated.

Would probably be my pick for a gasser in that year range.
In fact we looked at a 13 1/12 bath, but then decided there was no comparison to our present one, that we bought for even less money.
Just sayin and just in case you might find some interest in an older DP to fit your budget.
  • All Canyon Stars are on a 26,000 chassis. They are at the top of most lists for best gasser Class A.
  • The Newmar Bay Star and Canyon Star motorhomes are very nice gas motorhomes. From what I know, the Canyon Star line tends to be on a heavier duty chassis as compared to the Bay Star units which can be a plus in terms of cargo capacity. When we were looking, we found that our top picks were Newmar, Tiffin and Winnebago/Itasca and many others feel the same. I can only suggest that you do your homework and read up on gas vs. diesel motorhomes.

We've had ours since June and we're very happy with it and feel it will meet our needs as we don't usually travel more than 300 miles per day and travel at a casual pace. If you want to drive longer miles on multiple days, you will most likely be happier with a diesel pusher due to the better ride quality and less engine noise in the cockpit. Also, most gas motorhomes are limited to towing vehicles that are 5K lbs. or less. If you want to tow something heavier, then look for a diesel pusher.
