Newmar Dutchstar platform under passenger side sofa?

Hello- I have a 2013 4338 Dutchstar, replacing sofa passenger side due to vinyl peeling.....what is under the carpeted platform?

This platform requires any replacement couch to have wooden side legs that would need to be carefully cut/notched, no one sells a replacement jacknife sofa with the correct legs so...wondering what is under the bolted down platform, dont even see the bolts....
This platform is under the televator but does not appear to be televator related.

    IF you have a Hydronic Heating system, the box may have the Water lines and radiators for the Heating system. I CAN tell you it has nothing to do with BELOW the floor to the Basement. It can also have the hoses for a standard Furnace duct system. It also may be the way Newmar decided to mount a Sofa. The box is just installed and anchored to secure the sofa and seat belts if the sofa has seat belts. Is there a reason you are just not going to recover the existing sofa? Doug

    It's on the passenger side, which is the right side. Both front wheels are many feet feet in front of this platform, the start of the platform is 2 to 3 feet forward of the wheel.

    Looking at pictures online, I think it might basically be the front left wheel. It appears that the slide has a notch or stair-step on its bottom edge to clear the wheel and suspension components.

    If that's the case, it's probably not very practical to remove the platform altogether.
