- chiefneonExplorerHowdy!
That would not effect my drive habits much seeing I keep my speed 65 mph and below now towing my large 5er.
"Happy Trails"

We have enough rules and regulations. Remove them all and let Darwin sort it out.

Remove the "some roads" and insert "ALL roads" also change 3 axle vehicles to 3 axle trucks and you are now correct.
CA has 55 mph for all trailers and that include 3-axles vehicles on some roads.
I don't think there is much left over 26k lb that is not included anyway.
Than lot of experts say that having on the same road different limits for different vehicles is one of the reasons for accidents.
Sure when car line travels at 75 and a truck cuts in it at 55-60 mph, that can make lot of smoke from panic braking. - Bruce_BrownModerator

Of course the national policy of "Only obey/enforce the laws you agree with" is part of the problem..
Exactly. - hooliganExplorerAccident rates are up due to distractions. Look at the cars as they pass, on the phone, texting, even reading newspapers, weaving from lane to lane if they do occasionally look up. Speed is the straw man-

- moishehExplorerAs a CDL holder that legislation will do nothing to make the roads safer. Actually it might do the opposite. If you use I-10 between Tucson and Phoenix as an example here is what will happen. The trucks will have to drive in the RH lane at the limited speed. It will be either 65 or 68. 4 wheelers probably average 75 + on that road. Those cars will be weaving in and out of that RH lane. The truck line ups will be miles long. Trucks move over when they encounter any vehicle on the side of the road. Now that elephant rain will be in the center lane with 4 wheelers flying by either side. I pity those that travel on 2 lane state highways. The real solution would be to limit the speed of ALL vehicles. BTW: The rule would only cover trucks and busses. Not MH's. The OOIDA has a lawsuit ready to squash that proposed rule. Be prepared for higher prices on consumer goods as freight rates will go up.

At least they must prove they know how to drive
