Whenever I hear someone parrot the propaganda and say: "speed = danger" " speed was a factor (danger)" "speed = danger"
I ask: "What is the fatality rate per driver/mile driven in NASCAR, USAC, Formula 1, and Indy Car racing?"
That is remote comparison, but German autobahns with average speed in range 200 kph = 130 mph are way safer than US freeways, regardless Germans driving much lighter cars with less safety features. - et2Explorer

What's your suggestion? Mad Max?
Personally, I drive a lot for work and can tell you, most people don't pay attention to them anyway. I drive those speed now with my MH. No complaints from me with it. I completely understand the (my) limits and ramification of ignoring them. But yet there are some yahoos in this world that throw any caution to the wind.
It wouldn't matter anyway, many would pay the fines and keep on speeding. I had one guy tell me recently how he ran 85 in his 45' MH on a recent trip. I guess I was to be impressed. - Matt_ColieExplorer IIIt is all a smoke screen folks. The real danger out there is people that do not obey the existing laws, runs of the road and acknowledged protocols. Even years ago, when my children were taking Driver Ed in High School, I would ask about things that were in the existing laws. They would say it was never mentioned. When DD was shot down in class for asking about one, I sent her back to school with a copy of the page from the MI Uniform Vehicle Code.
But then schools are educating people that
I'm not going to finish that because it could be construed as a political statement.

I don't like changing lanes unless it's it's necessary as with my car hauler trailer I am around 66 ft long.;)

Not a big deal. Many over the road trucks are already governed to those speeds by the trucking company to save fuel.
And IMO those trucks are partly responsible for what's going on. When the normal.flow of traffic is 70 MPH and one of those governed trucks pulls into the passing lane to go by another governed truck a rolling roadblock happens.
Instead of safe travels and a safe distance, cars become bunches up and people become impatient. I'm on the road for work and see this every day.
Having 2 different speed limits on the same highway is just a really, really stupid idea. Just an opinion from someone who covers a lot of miles in both my daily driver and our MH.
Now having said that, idiots who text and drive are the bigger issue. Laws or not, I still so so many idiots staring at their phones instead of paying attention to driving.
X 1000! - 10forty2ExplorerI guess personal responsibility has completely gone out the window, and the good 'ole gubmint has to take control of our lives in every aspect because we can certainly not be trusted to govern ourselves.......
