No hot water to kitchen sink

Born Free 2008 27' RB. I get hot water to the rear bath sink, however, a very slow trickle at the kitchen sink. The pump runs fine and the cold water pressure is okay. I don't think it is a problem with the mixing valve at the kitchen sink as it is just a trickle of COLD water when the valve is clear to the left or hot water side. I have also checked cartridge and it appears to be in good condition.

Any suggestions for remedy will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Is the Sink Aerator screen clear? Also, there are check valves at the water heater. I'd think that a stuck check valve would affect all the hot water but not positive about that.

My first thought, happened to me a couple of times
  • More than likely it is the aerator on the kitchen sink faucet. This has happened to us and also some friends a time or two. Hope this is all it is for you...
  • You get Hot water to other faucets so it's not the check valve on water heater.

Problem is no hot water flow at kitchen faucet.....but cold water flow is good?

Then you have a blockage either in hot water line to faucet OR the internals of faucet.

    With water OFF
Disconnect hot water line to faucet and check for clog and/or remove/replace internals.

If you can't remove internals (cheap RV faucet) then replace with a good quality residential faucet

I always replace bath & kitchen with residential faucets so that they can be easily rebuilt.....usually just have to swap cartridge

As for shower being turned off at head/handle.......that allows cold & hot to be tied together........but cold water pressure is higher than hot water due to check valve in hot outlet....slight pressure difference closes that check valve and then cold water can flow thru hot water lines until higher demand on hot water occurs.
Having shower off at handle/head vs hot/cold valves being closed would affect ALL faucets.
  • This happens to us a couple of times a year. The first thing to check is the outside shower faucet. If the valves aren't turned off tight, you won't always get hot water inside. I haven't figured out how yet, but the cold water flows through them to the inside faucets. Usually you won't know the outside valves are not off tight until you check them is because there isn't any water coming out of the spray head.
