Yup, what Mich said.
All power has to come into your RV through the shore power cable.
It's either plugged into an outlet outside your RV (shore power), or it's plugged into the outlet from your generator (generator power).
Unless you have one of those new-fangled RVs that will automatically switch the power from one to the other so the shore power cable is then only used for shore power.
