Tail lights don't work - basically anything controlled by the headlight switch doesn't work (along with signal lights, docking lights, fog lights).

WHAT I WOULD DO RIGHT NOW is take a test light and see if u have power to the signal fuse and to the headlights;; IF you DO then run a dummy ground wire to one of the headlights and see what happens
that will be the proof in the pudding:: if NO power then its as I suggested a power supply relay solenoid bad somewhere
