No strap on main awning. How do I know the length I need?

They appear to vary slightly. The one for the window awning was in the 20-something inch range. I forget. Anyway, ....

While I have your attention, how do you remove the light covers in the coach? I have a few lights that seem to have touchy switches. One is totally missing the switch, so who knows if that one works at all. Do I need to replace that whole thing cause of a switch being off?
