I would like to know what they did to claim "maintenance" on a Icemaker. The Icemaker water flow thru the solenoid is "timed" by the motor. The motor moves at a specified RPM thru the cycle and when it gets to the indent for the water solenoid valve as it turns it supplies 120 power to the solenoid for that few seconds. I have NEVER in 30 years of working on any type RV Icemaker(that numbers in the hundreds) had to modify the Water solenoid timing. I would suspect you have a solenoid that is NOT closing off completely and is slowly dripping water. IF the Solenoid allows TOO MUCH water into the mold, then the excess will overflow and fall into the catch bin. It will NOT stay on top and then freeze. If the solenoid water valve is seeping then THAT small amount will slowly drip on top and then freeze and accumulate that sheet OVER the existing cubes. Remove the water line coming out of the water valve and see if you see drops of water slowly drip out. If so, replace the water valve. Doug
