NORCOLD Icemaker

I have a NORCOLD 4-door refrigerator Model #1200LRIM.
The icemaker is leaking and making a long icicle on the left side down into my ice tray. I undid the four bolts that secures the icemaker to the back wall. I removed the two phillips screws that fasten the bottom plate to the underside of the icemaker. There are three or four wires coming through the back wall and hardwired into the icemaker. There is also a little water sluice tray to supply water to the icemaker.
We hardly use the icemaker and could do with removing it completely.
Is there a kit for blanking off the the hole the wires come through and the water supply opening.
Is this thing fixable?
Anyone know the cost for a replacement unit if I decide to put another one in?

    I have the same refrigerator.

    Just disconnect the water supply hose that goes to the ice maker.

    My ice maker water supply hose connector was under the kitchen sink.

    Replacements are available at Lowes for about $75.00, if I remember correctly, its been a few years now. No real modifications to make it work. They do wear out over time. Others can probably tell you what make the ice maker is.

    The above poster is correct. I just replaced mine about a month ago with the same one, and it was a direct fit and it works great now. My old one was original from 2001 and it was nasty where the water goes to make the ice!

    X-2, replaced mine and two friends from replacements I bought at Lowes.

    We took ours out and plug the hole with poster putty (it is for putting posters on a wall) we got it at Wal-Mart. Been in there for two years.

    Yes, U did and reoplaced it with a pair of Rubbermaind trays, Very happy with the result

    Do not know of a block off kit but any good quality tape (Eternabond) when warm and dry should work (Even gorilla tape or just fill it with GOOP).

    Before you do

    When you pull the front cover off there is a screw, sits crosswise, it has a half circle with + and - signs near it.. Turn it toward Minus a full turn and see if that fixes it.. NOTE you may have to play with it quarter turn at a time.

    I think you need to replace the water flow solenoid. I just had a problem like this, and replacing the solenoid fixed it. A recent post by dougrainer is where I learned of this. Here is part of his post below:

If the solenoid water valve is seeping then THAT small amount will slowly drip on top and then freeze and accumulate that sheet OVER the existing cubes.
