Norcold overheat temp sensor issues again

I went to turn on my frig yesterday and no power. Checked the area behind frig at access panel and found the "Revision E" black box has red light on again.

I had the cooling unit replaced 4 years ago, and its been fine since, except for having the black box replaced twice under Norcold warranty. A sensor was replaced once also.

It will reset but trips soon after. frig is fine with black box bypassed. same as every other time. Is Norcold still replacing these boxes free of charge?

I will replace it with a residential eventually. I want to get my $1800 worth of use from the cooling unit install from 4 years ago. The install that GS was going to cover then decided not too.

We had our 1200LRM cooling unit replaced with a rebuilt one by Northern RV Refrigeration in Shipshewana Indiana in September 2013. The cost was around $950, we paid the $500 deductible and Good Sam paid $450. Works better than the 2 Norcold cooling units replaced before it and keeps stuff frozen. Hope to have Leon at Northern RV Refrigeration put an ARPrv Control on it this summer.

  • You can continue to beat on that dead horse, but it might be time to consider a residential refrigerator.

If the refer checks out fine Norcold will replace the Recall kit. Note that ALL parts are supposed to be replaced, not just the black box. BOTH the sensor and the Black box as a kit is replaced. Doug
