Thanks, Eric! I've used that photo many times to help folks find the OBD1 port on their pre-1999 F53's, but had long ago forgotten where I got it. I'll try to remember to credit you with it in the future! ;) - 96Bounder30EExplorer IIThe chassis in the above picture is a 1996 Ford F53 with a V8 460 (OBD1).........it happens to be the chassis under my 1996 Fleetwood Bounder in my profile picture.....I took that picture.....

From what I've found listed, the '98 Rexhall Aerbus was built on a '97 Ford F-53 chassis with the 460 and OBDI as noted. There may have been some built on the early '99 V-10 chassis, but I haven't found any listed so far. If it does have the 460, as also said, the brand specific OBDI socket (not an OBDII socket) is under the doghouse adjacent to the accelerator pedal.
great pix, if it is a p30, it left side of the steer wheel about shin high. - Dutch_12078Explorer IIFrom what I've found listed, the '98 Rexhall Aerbus was built on a '97 Ford F-53 chassis with the 460 and OBDI as noted. - dodge_guyExplorer IIIt "should" have an OBDII connector. It will not run full OBDII diagnostics however. On HD chassis's the PCM will be programmed with OBDI software. Even my Excursion runs OBDI in an OBDII PCM.
- Nick-BExplorerDefinitely depends on the chassis.
If it is Ford then there was no 1998 chassis built, just leftover 1997's with the 460 V-8 which are OBD-I and then they went right to the early release of the 1999 chassis with the V-10 and it is OBD-II.
So if it is a 460, the it should be right where MountainAir05 sez - under the doghouse and upper left and you'll need the Ford specific code reader. If its the V-10 (or a Chevy), then I dunno!?! - MountainAir05Explorer IIIf Ford, look under the dog house Left Front corner. Some you can see and get too from over the Left Front wheel.
- BumpyroadExplorermy 99 ford chassis had one stuffed clear up under dash on the steering column.
bumpy - Kayteg1Explorer IIOBD become mandatory on cars in 1996, but trucks always are behind with technical progress, meaning it is possible to Rexall does not have the plug by the year, but CEL would indicate some kind of diagnosis plug.
Seek the box with computer modules and follow where the wires go.
Small 7-10 wire cable might lead to OBD. - Big_KatunaExplorer IIWhich chassis. I don't think 98 will be OBD II. If it's a ford mine was on the left valve cover.
