Oh No 2 Big O Tires

Just a heads up for anyone traveling thru Bozeman, MT area. If you have a tire problem on your motorhome, pass on Big O Tires located on 7th. Nice guys but questionable skills. Took four hours to replace our flat and a trip to another tire dealer to fix the damage done by Big O.
  • Were they actually working on the tire for 4 hours or was that how long it took from the time you got there till they finished? And what damage could they have done changing a tire? Was it a front tire or a rear inside dual? Makes a difference how long it takes. Was it a tire they had in stock or did they have to go and get one? Did you have an appointment or were you a walk in? Personally, 4 hours doesn't sound too bad to me, especially if they had other customers, since I doubt you had scheduled a flat tire, those things usually happen unexpectedly.
  • HMMM. Examples are the exact opposite of the experience I have had with "Big O" tire stores. Must be a regional thing.
  • IMO, the trouble with Big O is that they are a franchise. Two years ago, I had a tire failure during a trip so I bought new tires for my 5er at a Big O that is 120 miles from home. Fast forward to a month ago, one of my tires had tread separation. I took it to the local Big O who when they first looked at it said "manufacture defect, no problem to fix it". I got a call two hours later and was told that they would not replace it since I did not buy from them. If I wanted it fixed with road hazard, I would have to go back to the store I purchased from.

Lesson learned. No more Big O for me.
