oil filter?

Does anyone knows what is the price for a Allison trans oil filter if you are to do the oil change your self?:o

My Allison is a M3060, which takes 19 quarts of Mobil Delvac synthetic ATF, (same as Castrol TranSynd).

I just paid $67.54 for an Allison 4 inch high Capacity Filter Kit P/N 29548988, at a Freightliner dealer/shop.

  • The spin on filter has a magnet on the top that must be retained and put on the new one.
It is better to read the instructions and remove the magnet before throwing the old filter away.

I got down to the dumpster a few minutes after the garbage truck left.

It was a sixty mile round trip to Nashua to buy a new one from an Allison dealer.
  • Since no Allison model number was posted, you are getting prices for spin on filter for smaller transmissions as well as part numbers for the 3000 series with two filters in a kit.

Suspect you have the spin on filter, but you need to let us know.
  • Last year at the authorized Allison Transmission shop I paid $9.50 for part #29539579. The fluid was $40 per gallon.

  • NAPA has them and I believe the price was around $12, but that was a year or so ago.
