STB's may or may not be able to tune physical channels that they have not scanned and verified PSIP information on.
Scott: How far from Murrieta are you? I have one of the better STB's made that I had in the office for testing during the transition a few years ago. Its yours if you want it and can send it down South with my daughter
Jeff,
First off, you're way over my head here, which doesn't take much by the way. What's an "STB"?? And, PSIP, all this stuff is beyond me. I'm just a simple kind of guy. I'm not even sure I can differentiate the difference between VHF and UHF. I've got a "HAM" license and had to know a ton of stuff to take the test but, all that's gone by the wayside since I took the test.
If you think the "STB" would help my situation, I'd be glad to take a nice motorcycle ride to Murrieta, (only about an hour from here, plus or minus from here) and pick it up and pay you for it. You know, this rig is amazing to me. I've tackled more technical/electrical issues on this beast than anything I've owned, FOR EVER! I thought these monsters were supposed to be better refined, the newer you bought. I thought I'd be more or less problem free if I jumped in way over my head on this rolling gymnasium.
Oh well, it is what it is. I'll just keep on chugging. PM me with some info and we'll get together. Thanks a heap.
