The only problems I heard about the Gillig chassis is the right angle fan mechanism which I understand in some cases was not "wet" or oil bathed and sometimes people forgot to grease ... Which caused failure of the power steering as well.
The 6v92 engine is probably reliable if not overheated but I have no idea the mpg or the mile limit of it and if the thing can get serviced easily. A coach I am eyeballing has a DDEC 6 v92 silver in it and I dunno how to work on a partly electric engine. Either all mechanical and I can do some work, or all electric and it's all brain surgery for me!
