Lots of good advise so far. My brother recently purchased a 2002 Discovery 37U with the 330 Cat and 3000 Allison Transmission. Before purchasing it, a complete inspection of all the running gear was done. The motorhome was purchase way below book, knowing that the home part had delayed maintenance not done. And this is where you have to be really careful and be able to afford repairs and maintenance to be done or you yourself is really, really good at maintenance work. In my brothers case, he is very handy at fixing everything from furnace to hot water heater to plumbing fixtures to window repairs and on and on. Other than his time and labor, the cost to bring this unit up to date and in excellent condition has been on the low side. Just count on a lot of little repairs and updates on these older units. Good Luck!
