older winegard satellite dish

I recently purchased a 1996 Rexhall Aerbus with a winegard either RD-1046 or Rd-4600 dish already installed. Do I need a new dish? I have direct tv in my home, is that account rv usable? I had led TV's installed, but not sure how to have rv satellite tv. I apologize in advance for my utter lack of knowledge for all things rv and all things technology related!

    My older KLH in motion sat dish will not work with my Standard def DTV receiver after Jan 14 according to the KLH rep, so I will have to do something different to be able to operate my DTV next year. Always a problem w/new technology vs old. O'well we can't take the $$$ with us!!

    That dish should work but you will not be able to receive any of the DirecTV HD programming. You just follow the instructions as to how to locate the 101 satellite by changing the antenna elevation and using a good compass. Do this after you connect up your DirecTV receiver so you can watch the signal strength meter which will tell you when you have found the satellite.
    The only exception to this would be that you cannot use the new Genie or H25 receivers with that antenna with out adding a special SWM adapter.

    You should be able to use this dish with your current Directv satellite box.
