Congrats Dennis and happy PT. You have received great advise so far, and soon will join a lot of folks who have forgotten the pain.
When I had the second TKR, I woke up in my room and immediately rang the Nurses Station, I wanted out of bed and I wanted lunch. Nurses were amazed but very specific about NO lunch and NO walking until the surgeon said OK.
The next morning when he read the tape on the morphine injection pump and I had not used it, he was amazed. I told him that after more than ten years of suffering, I felt he had removed the part of me that caused the pain and I had none.
It is a life saver.

TKR my surgeon recommend this as a means of showing what a TKR is.
