Onan 5500 Quits Running
I have around 200 hours on the generator and have never had a bit of trouble, until yesterday. Cranked it up, turned on A/C, and went to get gas for MH. MH was over 1/2 full, just wanted to top off tank. The generator ran fine for about half an hour and then I noticed it had stopped running. Didn't think anything about it, restarted it. It ran for about another 1/2 hour, stopped again. This time the MH gas tank was full. Went to start it again, took a little longer. Generator was turning over rapidly as expected, just not starting. Waited about 5 minutes, generator started.
I finally looked at manual, troubleshooting, and found the fault codes. Went back to MH and had fault code 36. Onan manual says fuel line or low fuel. I'm thinking fuel filter or fuel pump.
Anybody else have something like this? Should I just replace the filter(Onan now says only one filter is needed, not the two that are on there now) or go ahead and replace the fuel pump while I've got it tore down?
