Ouch! Have a 7.5 Onan Diesel, as you may. Runs good and works well, but needs a new sensor, so that it will continue to run when restarted hot. Been putting it off, since it's not a real problem and with the thought, that I might have to pull it anyway for other reasons, down the road.
If like mine, you might want to look into a sensor replacement, while you're at it, but mainly for cleaning it out in there. Seems that they eventually crud up in their water jacket location and cause these kind of issues.
