Onan Hour meter memory

Hi all, on our 2007 Bounder 35e. The hour meter counts up and resets to zero each time we turn onan gen off. It is a hobbs. Any help would be appreciated.
  • It has a small memory chip that feeds from a small capacitor. If it resets means the board of the counter is fried. A hobbs might be expensive, but I have bought counters on amazon for $10
  • It should not be going back to zero when turned off. Should not cost much to replace the counter.
