As others have said, I would not travel for enjoyable sightseeing without reservations. Once parked you can take the car to explore the sights. I would suggest staying between Astoria and Cannon Beach then between Newport and Florence, then between Port Orford and Brookings. In California a few places to consider are between Orick and Trinidad, Ancient Redwoods RV Park in Redcrest in the heart of several redwood groves.
