There could be lots of advantages. When you aren't using it, then it can be rented out. When you want to use it then it's available even if it's 4 of July or Labor Day or whenever you want to camp. If you full time and spend months at a time in it then it's probably a huge savings over renting a space. And as long as you don't pay too much for it, your equity should always be there if you want to sell. And of course this all depends on how much these places charge for the maintenance fees.
