Another option to buying a lot in a RV park, is just buying land too. You have to check and make sure it's legal to stay on the parcel for long periods of time in a RV, but you don't have to worry about monthly maintenance fees either. I have 20 acres of bare land I bought just outside of Yosemite and over the years I've camped there a lot. It's not legal where my land is to stay in a RV for long periods, but it's one of those rules the county doesn't regularly enforce unless they get complaints. And although I haven't done so yet, I can put in a well and power without having to build a house. I did have a nice level concrete RV pad poured on the land.
