The solution is called "Defensive Driving".. If you see any OTR driver texting while he/she is driving, a report to DOT with the company name and a truck number, time of day, location, ect. will cost the driver his CDL and job. Also, talking on a phone without a headset, working on a computer, reading a map while driving may cause a suspension WITHOUT PAY!!. The least action may be a session with the company safety officer, whether your report is true or not. Major OTR companies are very strict about these things. Bear in mind, that other drivers can do whatever they want, drinking, distracted, speeding, with no consequence.
