OTR trucks drifting into your lane

During the long drive home on I95 back from Fla I noticed something. Seems a lot of OTR trucks that passed me drifted into my lane. A few times almost causing an accident. Had I not been paying attention and watching for it one would have taken me out when he veered halfway into my lane. I am pretty careful about maintaining my lane and despite the handling fix still get a little push and then of course the correction once passed to keep from drifting the other way. Do OTR truck suffer from wind push from MH's? More than a few times I passed one I noticed them texting, eating, talking on the phone, so is it they are simply distracted? Seemed to happen more than I would consider a coincidence so wondering if there is physics at play.

  • When being passed I move truck/rig towards the right side of my lane to give ME more room....just in case.

Same thing when on curvy 2 lane roads......stay to right margin just in case the fool coming the other way drifts across center line.......like so many of them do!
  • It happens a lot. I see it with cars also. Just a lot of distracted drivers out there, Being alert is all you can do and sometimes that isn't enough.
    Safe Travels.
