P30 autopark failure. Information/help request.

I'm on the road with a Chevy P30 chassis autopark failure. Previously (19k miles ago) I replaced both pressure switches and the autopark unit worked flawlessly until yesterday. This time the symptoms were different and the failure was rather sudden and complete. Other than failing to work, the main symptom was the loss of all the atf from the tank onto the ground.

I disconnected the unit by pulling the pin at the relay lever assembly so we could resume travel using wheel chocks when parked. I also unplugged the pump. I could not find evidence of leakage at the switches or lines but it was getting dark and I was working with a flashlight. Is there anything I should check before concluding the problem is the high pressure actuator?

Is the gentleman who repairs them still doing that reliably? If so, can you tell me his contact info?

Thank you for any help you can offer.
  • Thank you for that link. It'll give me ample reading until the rain ends and I can crawl under again.

    Thats cruel.:B
  • LOL Hank and powderman!

Rain ended and I contacted Roger via e-mail on my cell phone and he has been assisting me. Since I carry only tools with a proven use, I had to buy a few specific wrenches to remove the hydraulic cylinder to send off to him for repair. His instructions make the diagnosis R&R as straight-forward as possible.

Meanwhile, I've been enjoying my stay in north Georgia, riding my motorcycle on truly fantastic roads and scenery. :)

Maybe this link will help: Auto Park info

Thanks again for your link, and for the replies of others here. The repairs are now complete, Roger Haag providing very gracious assistance. I could have done my share of the work a month ago, but the holidays took precedence.

I just like to wrap up any thread I start with the outcome.
