And there we have it...those who would never, ever..and those who says go for it. It's all going to come down to your own skill set and comfort level in driving challenging roads. And yes, the comfort of the passenger has to be taken into consideration.
North to south is always better..that way you are able to pull off and back on, from scenic points. If you have to pull out, crossing two lanes to get back northbound..it stops being fun, real quick like.
Me? I have driven #1 several times and have no qualms about doing it any day of the week in anything. But..I am a professional driver, 37 years, so am comfortable in all of that. Only you can judge. 101 will be a breeze for you.
