From a practical stand point I would choose a white gel coated upper and a earth tone lower(from baggage doors down). Like others have said those swirls and stripes look dated after a while and I think the darker full body paint absorbs a lot more heat than the white. If you used a gel coat upper only a clear coat would need to be sprayed with little masking. Also pigment could be added to the lower section gel coat which would eliminate labor there also. I liked the two tone cars from the 50's but then again I'm old.
