Before doing that try oxy clean on the stain. I know it sounds silly, but several years ago we had a racoon take up residence in our attic that left some pee stains. In frustration I took one of those two part carpet/upholstery cleaner cans and sprayed the stain. When it dried the stain was totally gone.
