- mscampingExplorerWe quit trying to use a hard copy and went to the internet.. I think that's what there trying to get everyone to do.. Mike Mathews..
- OTTOExplorerI happen to like Passport and accept it for what it is. Within 30 days of you getting your directory, it will be out of date as new parks will be added and canceled. You don't need a smartphone but most everyone has a computer-I know of only one couple in our wide travel circle that does not have a laptop. This issue applies to all membership type entities. Changes occur constantly.

I prefectly understand it. It is ideal for someone who travels long distances involving several overnights before they get to their destination, expecially when they travel during the week. I understand that we will have to pay full price on the weekend, or holiday, cause that is when campgrounds make their big money. With Passport America, it gives us a break from a regular diet of Walmart parking lots. The reason why I do not like PassPort America is because it is hard to get reservations with them. On holidays you can just forget about ever getting into one of those parks.
That alone should tell you that many of their members are popular places. Being busy indicates a pretty high level of satisfaction in the business world.
If it were not for the restrictions, there would not be any discounts. A park owner would be stupid to give half off during the Magnolia Festival (for example) when he was going to be full anyway and conversely would be just as stupid to get nothing from a site if it was going to be empty anyway. The parks come up with what makes sense for them and publish it. We just have to work around them a couple of uses per year pays for it and the rest of the savings are gravy for us. - LindsayRichardsExplorer

Great service company that's saved me thousands over the years.
But, when investigating a PPA park, at the bottom of each page are the conditions you can use PPA under. If they don't suit me, I look for something else.
I agree with the others, just call if you need one, I don't since I always check on-line and don't want the extra weight for a book of dubious usefulness a few months after publication. I'll look up that phone app but haven't felt the need for that yet...but just in case. - RayChezExplorer

We love Passport America and it is usually our first choice when in a new area. Can't imagine people willing to give it up for not getting a book yearly. It just hurts yourself. There are so many useful Smart Phone apps out there, nobody should be without one. The books can be a year old and internet is up to date. I think all of the big books for camping are on their last legs anyway.

I also know that everyone on this forum has Internet access.
...not as we're traveling off the interstates in many places....and not if we all don't have smartphones!
