paying for elect.

Starting May 1st I will be staying in a RV park on a monthly basis. The park is in Indio Ca where it gets very HOT in the summer. My 35 ft Bounder has 2 A/C. I have never stayed where you have to pay for metered elect. Can any of you full timers give me a ballpark figure on how it might cost on a monthly basis? Thanks Tom

The average May temps in Indio in May will be 53 for low and 113 for high. In June, the average low is 60 and the high is 117. Expect to pay a lot for electricity.

Save the money on the swamp cooler and spend it on the cost of electricity. Swamp coolers aren't going to help you much in an RV. Good luck!
  • "camp104"....Depending on how long you'll be staying there and what they allow, they make some nice looking plastic swamp coolers. You could get a small one and disguise it near a window. In the dry heat of Indio it would probably work pretty well.
  • Indio in the summer will probably cost you $150+. The good news is if you were just to the west you wouldn't have Imperial as your electrical provider, you would have Edison which charges something like $.37 KWH because they get to charge a summer premium which borders on insane.
  • I stay a couple months back East and pay. My cost are very low running both ACs and. The admin fees where more than the cost was. All going to depend on how much per KWH they charge. My bill was $15 max both months and almost that much to read the meter.
