Pets in RVs
I recently originated a thread pertaining to a campground operator telling us that Florida law prohibited leaving pets unattended in RVs. I just returned from Florida and while I was there I contacted...

The OP was referring to Jetty Park in Port Canaveral. They are pretty anal when it comes to pets..they will request rabies certificates. See their rules below...we had no problems with our dog in the three weeks we stayed there but apparently the OP had some issues. Every case and every host is different..would we go back? absolutely!..beautiful campground.
That said, each campground can make their own rules regardless of whether there's a State or Federal Law. Jetty Park is pretty specific as are many of the parks we've stayed at. Here's what they say:
Pets:
Jetty Park Campground is pet-friendly on a limited basis, and pet owners will be held responsible for their pets at all times. Rabies expiration papers are required. Pets cannot be left unattended at any time and must remain on a leash. You may not leave your pet inside your RV if you leave the campground. Two pet limit per site. The fee is $2.00 per pet per night. Pets are allowed only in Class A, B, and C units and travel trailers. Pets are not allowed inside any cabin. Pets are not allowed outside the campground. Pets must be walked in the designated pet walk areas ONLY. Campers are responsible for cleaning up after their pet(s). Pet owners who are not in compliance will be asked to leave the park with no refund.
I'd say that sums it up. My suggestion is, if traveling with pets, make sure you read the rules posted on their website BEFORE you make reservations to ensure their rules suit your traveling needs. Not knocking the OP, just offering a suggestion to avoid the hassle they apparently had....Dennis
