Here's what I'd check for the no gas situation.
1. You have propane in your tank.
2. The valve on the tank is turned on.
3. The tank selector switch (if equipped) is correctly selected.
If those check out okay, and you still don't have propane, then you probably have a malfunctioning propane regulator which needs to be changed.
