We're going to visit our daughter in Pittsburgh in September. I've read there are issues around there with narrow roads and low bridges. Anyhow, I'm looking for recommendations on places to park the r...

Mountain Top used to be a country music venue/campground. The builder and previous owner would book top name country singers a couple weekends a year. He had a large covered stage. His wife and himself were country singers. Most music fans would bring their RVs for the weekend. Even though the campground was open to the public the previous owner did not promote it as such.
It is actually on a large hill top. The entrance road is not paved and could be better. Sites are around the top of the hill.
Their daily rate has always been high but they give 50% off with Passport America. You can join PA when you check in.

The Pittsburgh area is not a good campground area. The few campgrounds contain almost all permanent campers.
That being said Mountain Top is the closest campground to downtown Pittsburgh by far.
I agree take exit 16 off of route 28, Allegheny Valley Expressway. There is no tunnel using exit 14 and then Bull Creek Rd. I live off ext 17.
