portable ladders

I would like to carry an aluminum ladder of some kind. I hate the existing rear mounted ladder. I am wondering what some of you others are using. I would like it to be long enough to access the roof, light and small enough to fit in a bin when retracted. Any thoughts?

    We also have the 7' folding step ladder but it won't get you on the roof. Your best bet is one of the 'extend and climb' ladders. They can be had in extended lengths of about 12' and, when collapsed, take up very little room. I use to carry one in the motorhome but use it at home now since I do routinely use the rear-mounted coach ladder to access the roof.
