With that said, I certainly would be sharing this with the MFG as if it bend that easily I'm thinking a recall should be considered.
All frame extensions on gas motorhomes are weaker than Ford/Workhorse frame, its just a matter of time and pressure till it bends or breaks.
Exactly. That's why, IMO, Georgetown (Forest Rivwr) should be informed and responsible for this repair.
Based on the hitch rating and information provided by the OP there may be (is?) an issue with the quality and strength of their extensions.
He found the issue before something catastrophic happened. What happens when the next guy doesn't?
A manufacturer can't fix something if they don't know it needs fixing. I'd be making a call to Forest River.
