Tiffin has a recall right now on their Ford Chassis motorhomes for this type problem. Tiffin is supplying 2 gussets and larger bolts. The Steel square gussets install where the OP's pic shows his break away lanyard. There are 6 bolt holes on each side. 3 on top the c channel and 3 on the bottom where the hitch is bolted. I would call Tiffin and ask if I could buy the recall kit and then install it on the motorhome. You will still have to get the bent channel straightened for the Gusset to fit in. The gusset is a square steel box that fits in the c channel. Doug
