I've had two power awnings. The first one had the wind sensor which had a mind of it's own. I kept the sensor turned off.
When we bought our current coach I had them install a power awning but not the wind sensor.
I don't need no stinkin wind sensor!!!
Because we've had two awning blown off we NEVER leave the campground with the awning extended. And at night I retract the awning...don't really need the shade at night nor the noise and problems if the wind comes up during the night.
We were in Boise a few weeks ago and a severe wind storm came out of nowhere in the afternoon and destroyed three awnings of people who weren't home.
