Power chips
I keep seeing advertisements for power chips in RV materials. I was wondering if anyone had installed one of these chips and their results? I have a Workhorse chassis and a 8.1 liter engine.

In truth, adjusting the ECM for the actual vehicle weight and use may actually prolong the life of the engine as well as producing fewer emissions.
If you've got the documentation Ford and GM will just let you play around with their ECM then please post it. Otherwise I say your spreading false information. Telling people to go try it for themselves and see is way out of line.

I said ASK FORD OR GM about reprogramming your ECM and see if they will void your warranty. I never said do it and take your chances. When I had my ECM reprogrammed I did check to find out if it would affect my warranty. It did not, as long as everything remained within specs. I did my homework and only suggested others do their own homework and not listen to people like you with no experience at all with reprogramming ECM's.
