Power Door Awning

Question

Anyone know how to open the DOMETIC mdl. 973 door awning manually?? The awning is not working, and I think it needs to be open to remove the 2 inner mounting screws. I am getting power to the motor, but nothing happens. I have the end caps off, the motor unplugged, and cover off of the motor drive, thinking i could remove the drive gear to pull it out manually....no such luck  :(

Usually when these fail they stay open due to the springs. Staying closed likely means either the release mechanism has jammed or the motor froze.

Thank-You very much. I printed it and followed what it said and it worked....the awning is off:):):)
