Power Gear Slide help

Hey all, looking for some input on fixing a Power Gear electric slide, 2008 Winnebago Vista (F53 chassis). On the forward slide, there are two rails, as I was pulling the slide in, I heard a not normal noise right before the stops. Now, the forward rail/motor will push the slide out, but won't pull it back in. I havent' pulled the motor/gear box off yet, but am wondering if anyone has experience something similar, and what had to be replaced?

Thanks,

Steve

  • Update. I have removed the slide mechanism, and found the broken parts. This model (9010000105) uses an enclosed steel screw drive, and plastic acme nut/guides, which are the parts which self-destructed. The acme nut is secured with two clevis pins, which were also bent. I'll get some pictures up soon, for now, trying to track down a shop who can order the parts for me. Thanks for your help fellow forum members.

  • Look for a sheered roller pin in each gear at each rail. Also check the tubes that connect the gears to the motor, if your is like mine the tubes have nuts and bolts holding them together some times these also break or fall out check them also.
  • Probably not exactly the same-see the roll pin in the upper right?
