Problem with 2014 Ford E450 Chassis

Our 2014, B+ 24 ft. MH is on a Ford E450 chassis - mileage 10,000 miles.
While on our way to Florida last winter and throughout our trip we occasionally heard loud grinding like sounds coming from the rear. This would happen when making a hard right or left turn and often after traveling at highway speeds, exiting the interstate and coming to a stop and then making a turn. We figured since the RV was new, it must have something to do with our not so new towing equipment.
We had this checked out and nothing was found wrong with the tow bars, connections or anything related.

Last weekend we used the MH and did not tow the car. Again we heard the same loud grinding sound. This confirmed the problem was definitely with the MH. An appointment was arranged at a local Ford truck dealer. They could not see anything obviously wrong and are not authorized to do "exploratory" work but would have to hear the noise. Well this is not practical.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, what was your finding.
We are wondering if it could be the differential.
Help! What to do.
  • We had a (possibly) similar problem with our E350, V10, a few years back. It had to do with the rear differential. Ford suggested adding some kind of special lubricant to it, which I did, and the noise went away. Might be the same thing you're experiencing. The noise was especially noticeable when making turns in a parking lot, where it was much easier to hear. Good luck
