2 different parameters on a Newmar slide
1. The INSIDE foam gasket you see is NOT the room seal but to keep the fascia from marring the sidewall if it goes far enough out. Usually, what you have noticed is a normal gap on a Newmar
2. The Outside Flange, should pull tight. There is an adjustment to pull tighter. Are the lock arms engaged? If not, engage them and see if it pulls in tight. Doug
The lock arms are not engaged. They are very difficult to get to on the bedroom slide, even using the provided tool so I've never used them. I have to be honest and admit I've never used the lock arms on the large living room / dinette slide. I keep thinking I should get in the habit of locking that one for traveling since it is a larger slide.
Since the coach is almost two years old, and I've not seen this slight misalignment in the slide until now, some have suggested the slide topper is out of adjustment. Do they get out of adjustment on their own?
Taking a closer look at the slide in the retracted position is appears that only the lower right corner (as viewed from the outside) is slightly protruding and only by less than 1/4". Just enough upon close inspection to notice.
Perhaps I'll run in out and in a few times and see if the situation changes.
Thanks for all the advice so far, and if anyone has more ideas or suggestions let me know.
If it continues to be an issue I will take it to the dealer for possible adjustment.
Thanks, Ken
