I found loose fuse holder connection that was causing a loss of converter output to the house battery, while looking for burnt fuses. Check tightness of allen head set screws at converter case that clamp onto heavy guage wires that connect to the house battery(s) Check all positive and ground connections that go to and from the house batteries. You can also check whether converter/charger is outputting power by touching the allen head screws on the connectors on the converter case with your voltmeter probes. Set voltmeter on 20 volt DC range. It would probably be worth your while to replace your old converter with a modern converter charger that will charge, but not over charge and boil out your house battery electrolyte .
