I never heard of it Dave! I've never had my tanks checked for age, when I drove onto a Washington State Ferry. All they do is make sure your tank is turned off then put a seal on it to where you can't open your tank while on the Ferry. If anyone was concerned about old propane tanks you would think it would be a Ferry carrying passengers, which runs under Federal Laws (U.S. Coast Guard). Strange to say the least!
