I had to use propane 20 years ago, when inverters were not easy available, but now 500W inverter can be bought for about $30, so no excuse to put yourself and others in danger.
Propane tank valve off on anything between storage and camping spot and you will feel much better.

I run fridge on propane whenever traveling.
Propane is so safe I even use it when sleeping.
I just don't buy into the purported issues of using propane.
