proper glue for installing vinyl flooring tiles in RV

Two years ago I installed quick click vinyl floors tile in my rv. Living here in Canada the rv goes thru extreme temperature during the year. The top click portion on many tiles has broken off due to expansion and contraction. Luckily I have boxes of tiles left over so I will remove the broken tiles and glue them all in place including the tiles still on the floor which are still good. My question is which vinyl glue should I use none are rated for outdoor use. I tried construction glue PL Premium this works well but is very thick to apply. I would appreciate any advice on the products they have used to solve this problem

X2 on the vinyl plank flooring. Great stuff for RV's, gap is negligible, and don't even have to worry about glue if it's the type that interlocks.

no one was promoting the vinyl planking. The OP wanted to know what the best glue was to re glue his floor tiles so I have suggested the glue one uses to glue down "glue down style" vinyl planking
I have never seen nor used interlocking vinyl floor planking?
I think your confusing 2 different products and issues
  • I'll second usersmanual. I used the heavy duty vinyl adhesive available at Lowe's. No problems with the floor lifting after two years.

I would not recommend that you use the fancy underlayment. I thought I was doing the right thing by using the thin high zoot spongey stuff for sound and temperature insulation. I don't like the way the floor moves when I step on it. I have a flat floor slide out, and the seams move relative to each other because of the underlayment. If I were to do it over again, I would glue roofing felt to the plywood floor, and glue the vinyl planks to the roofing felt.

I have personally installed vinyl plank flooring in MH and never left any perimeter gaps. The glue you need is the glue that floor layers use to glue down Vinyl plank.its very thin and easy to spread.
must have a smooth clean surface.does not have be any such outdoor glue at all
  • I thought you were supposed to leave a gap under the molding at the walls to allow the floating tile to float?
    bumpy
  • Your problem was not leaving expansion room for your installation. Most sheet flooring in RV's are not glued down. However if you're intent to use adhesive look for a ureathane.
