I have watched a YouTube video about removing the film. In it, a heat gun was used to soften the adhesive. I am wondering if a hair dryer would do the job?
If you have removed the film, what did you use to remove it?
I'll be watching for answers too. I have the 3M film on the CC we just got and I would love to remove it before it starts to really look bad. I would never have this stuff and would rather keep the front polished and do touch up when necessary.
I wouldn't wait until it looks bad. Our new to us (2004 DSDP) has the film and it had the "mould" behind parts of it. We've been removing it a bit at a time. If it is still clear it peels off fairly easily. If it has turned brown etc, it only comes off in very small pieces! We've been using a small hand held steamer and scraping either with a thumbnail (hurts after a while) or a plastic scraper. Some days when it is hot we just stop by and remove a bit more. Only about 1/3 left!
Do it now if it is still clear.
